COWGIRLS on stilts, flame thowers and a huge mutant aeroplane were part of show in Granada to mark six weeks to go until the Rocket Festival.
The show which was centred on and around a huge lorry float at Paseo del Salon on Thursday was followed on Friday night by a procession through the streets of Alhama de Granada and Loja. jubilant cheers and an excited crowd followed the parade in Alhama de Granada which also featured painted clowns, jugglers and acrobats.
In Granada a live drum and bass show and dance performance by Eat Prunes and the Lux Collective kicked off the procession.
Tickets are now on sale in Spain for the music, arts and performance festival 16-18 May in Alhama de Granada.
Marcus Clements festival director said: “ We had a fantastic response to the show - a large crowd gathered before we had even started! It was great to see that everyone is in the spirit and ready for the most exciting festival in Spain.”
Specialist fire show experts flew in from Berlin to produce a spectacular and attention grabbing fire show on top of the lorry as it drove through the streets.
Alhama residents were delighted that the festival parade visited the town who have welcomed this years festival as a high point of the calendar for young people in the area.
