From Malaga or Granada, the easiest way to Alhama de Granada and the Rocket Festival site is via the A92 Autovia, then the A402 through Moraleda de Zafonya, Buena Vista and Santa Cruz. This picturesque road winds up the Rio Alhama valley and takes about 25 minutes from the motorway to reach the junction with the A-338 which is a sharp hair-pin bend to the left sign posted "Bermejales" and "Granada". 4km up the road on the right on a sharp right hand bend is a small road with a wide gravel layby at the entrance, signposted "Transferencia". Follow this road for 4km then continue following track as it bends to the left rather than taking the smaller farm track straight on. A further 4km winding through the olive groves and cortijos of Las Morales, enjoying the majestic grandeur of the Sierra Nevada looming white-capped to your left, and you have arrived.
Welcome to the Rocket Festival 2008!

It's a beautiful drive to the festival site and one which many people will be making, amongst them plenty of people from all over Spain, Portugal, Britain, France, Italy and even further afield. If you are thinking about driving, fill your vehicle up with fellow festival goers, save money, help the environment and have a great adventure together. If you've got a spare seat you can contact others via our lift-share forum.
