It's late notice but we're not satisified with the party options for New Years Eve this year, so we're doing one of our own. For those of you who have been to the last two years at Play Cantarrijan you'll know how much fun they have been.

Hello lovely people

The festival is fast approaching and the set up is in full swing. This is your final pre festival newsletter for 2008, and is coming to you all from the festival site in Andalusia. The site looks fantastic and is full of enthusiastic and talented people working to make this years Rocket festival the best yet!

Volunteers

Without our wonderful volunteers the Rocket Festival would be a badly parked, unhelpful and litter strewn mess. Luckily every year a team of dedicated individuals earn back the cost of their advance tickets by working on crucial aspects of the festival and we love them for it.

New Bookings

The very exciting news today is that Flamenco legend Paco Moyano and his band will be sharing with us a beautiful and stirring traditional flamenco from the very roots of the genre. Paco is one of the greats from the traditional school and his songs tell of the harsh realities of life. Whether you can understand the words or not the passion in his voice and the haunting evocative strains of the guitar and subtle flamenco rhythms will leave only the most stony hearted without a tear in their eye. It's a very proud moment for Rocket to be able to provide a stage for Alhama de Granada's celebrated resident and we are sure you will enjoy the moment as much as we will.

Also booked this week for the main stage are local rockers 5 Duros, Granada's mestizo heroes Los Vecinos del Callejón (The neighbour from the lane) and Swedish psychedelic rock newcomers The Movements.

65€ (+ booking fee) for the whole weekend

50€ (+ booking fee) 2-day ticket (Saturday and Sunday)

The entertainment starts at 12:00 Friday 16th May and finishes at 08:00 on Monday morning.
The campsite is open from 18: Thursday until 18: Monday.
