DJ Memo

To talk of DJ MEMO is to talk of electronic music in its purest form. One of the biggest live set DJs in the country, his style is difficult to classify, applying scratch and turntable skills to Electro, Minimal, Techno, Breaks and Hiphop.

While playing guitar and singing in a rap metal group aged 12 (!), he studied piano at music school and discovered Scratch, throwing him deep into the world of DJs. He left the group in 1994, aged 14, and almost immediately built up an average of 15 shows a month, meaning that today he is seen as the Number One in Southern Spain, for his spectacular technique and lightning-fast hands at the decks - a spectacle that is as visual as it is audio.

MEMO has played in venues and festivals all over Spain as well as in "Stereo Bar" (Berlin), "United 7" and "Bar 54" (Londdon)Discoteca "Catwalk" (Barcelona), "Zen Club" (Barcelona), "Moog" (Bcn), "Kubik" (Bcn), Space (Ibiza), Discoteca Privilege (Ibiza), Industrial Copera (Granada), Palafitos (Dominican Republic) Shaga (Mexico). He's shared billing with the biggest electronic groups and DJs in the world (Prodigy, Cristal Method, Orbital, Public Enemy, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills and a very extended etc) and now he is monthly resident DJ in the most prestigious cities in Europe, "City Hall" and "Sidecar" (Barcelona) and Bar 54 (Londres). Carl Cox uses DJ MEMO tracks and Space (Ibiza) use him as fiesta DJ alongside Derrick May, Adam Freeland, Alexander Kowalski, etc. He runs his own record labels in Barcelona : Zen Label, Boayer and Porno School Records, having great success with their first refrence 12345678910 Ref001.

Now aged 27, he has taken his music halfway round the world, he gives musical production classes in Barcelona and alongside his electro, minimal and breaks projects this year he goes back to his electro punk rock roots with "Memo's Band". Stage projects include the help of Columbian guitarist and producer Mauro Bela and Mexican drummer and producer Bethus Ghark. Always with the vanguard, he keeps climbing and climbing, blowing people away wherever he goes with his great decks technique and live potency - deliciously pleasing even the most demanding crowd.
