The Rocket Festival features entertainment and activities from a broad spectrum of arts and culture.

The main stage is a big hit with it's blend of musical styles featuring talented groups and musicians from Europe and beyond. The festival has its roots in traditional fairs and festivals of the past; circus, walkabout performance and street theatre provide some of the most memorable experiences for festival goers.

The 2008 festival was the third edition and attracted some 4000 festival goers from Spain, the UK and the rest of Europe. Entertainment at the Rocket is an eclectic mix of live music, DJs and electronic live acts, circus and sculpture.

The headline music acts for 2008 were - from the UK:

Coldcut, Bad Manners, Pendulum, The Nextmen, Evil Nine

And from Spain:

Muchachito Bombo Infierno, Los Delinqüentes, Discípulos de Otilia

The main dance venue hosted the Rocket’s favourite dance music live acts and DJ’s supported by inspirational circus and cabaret troupe and video projection artists. With twisted décor, 3d video projections, giant sculptures and inflatables it was an experience never to be forgotten.

Circus and cabaret performers, although less famous than the musicians, are often the acts that people remember the longest and it’s thisvibrant international mix of ancient and modern skill and showmanship that makes the Rocket so special compared with other more commercial music only festivals. Street performers can be found all over the site delighting young and old with their trickery, while the indoor and outdoor stages host more involved acts including award winners from across Europe. The focal point for circus at the Rocket is the Outdoor Circus Stage and the Cabaret and Circus tent, curated by Invisible Circus.

The Rocket attracts a large number of young families and children are well catered for in the Kids Field alongside the Natural Living area which provides a calm and tranquil space for holistic therapies, yoga and meditation workshops and more. The festival in 2008 proudly included an acoustic stage and café rune xclusively on solar power to provide a tasty meal and folk and acoustic musicians and bands alongside the Kids and Natural Living areas.

The main bar at the festival in 2008 is the Cantina Galactica, themed as the hang-out for the new settlers, aliens, robots, bounty-hunters,jedis and all the flotsam and jetsam of the galaxy that fancy a drinkand a knees-up. The Cantina Galactica has a giant window onto the planets surface and will host a variety of acts – cabaret, bands, djs and more.

New for 2008 were Cashiopea, a venue run by a cabaret-flamenco-punk-drum & bass collective from Granada and K & K, Alhama de Granadas finest tecno soundsystem.
